Live In Your Purpose!

It pulls at my heart ♥️ I think about it all day and night! I dream about it! I talk about it to anyone and everyone! I get overly excited just thinking about it. Have you ever felt this way? I have & still do.  When I started my Health & Fitness journey in 2014 I was so excited about just doing right by my body. I had no clear path and any particular one way of doing things, I just knew I was tired of being overwhelmed with weight and tired of having heart palpitations. I just wanted better for myself.  I never imagined that my journey would lead me to phenomenal places. Mentally first, with working on me daily, and seeing me fight old habits and create new habits with my mind. The physical aspects took on a whole new meaning. No more heart palpitations,  no more back pains, the weight was starting to shift in the right directions and the more I cared about my body the more it took care of me.  I knew that if I could help myself reverse the effects of bad eating habits, it’s p

For many many years I wasn’t living in my own truth. I was so distracted by all things and people around me that it became my norm. I was truly living for everyone else and not me. I was a true people pleaser, always looking for that one set of validation or making sure that I was getting recognized for being what other’s thought I should be.  It was just a miserable way to live, but it was who I was. It was my disgusting truth. It wasn’t till I realized that my worth was so much more than being validated by people who could care a 2 cents about me or my family. I started to become my own person. I no longer wanted to live in the shadows of the glits and glam of the so called perfect life.  I wanted normalcy back in my life and I was determined to get back to loving me unconditionally. Slowly but surely I began to wake up and see that my life is just beautiful the way it is and that I had nothing to prove to no one. You Are Not Your Failures!

Believe You Can & You Will! I just knew that this couldn’t be my life! There was no way I was going to just allow my weight to control me. There was no way I was going to continue to be defeated!  I’ve fought for the Woman I am becoming! I have resisted temptation, I have built my belief in me! There is no way in the world 🌎 I’m ever going back to 267lbs! That was my wake up call! I no longer will be HELD captive to the old mindset & old habits. My truth is possible!  When my husband took that picture of me in that Red blouse, I was devastated😒 I was in disbelief! I was literally trying to wrap my head around how this happened. I was trying to figure out what went wrong. Well when I reviewed the footage πŸŽ₯ where do I began. Well Lets look πŸ‘€ at the foods I was eating : Popeyes, Chinese, carry out, French fries 🍟 muffins, peanut chews, cookies πŸͺ KFC, Chocolate eclair pies πŸ₯§, chips, fried foods. Etc, you name it, I’m sure I was eating it! Whatever I wanted, I was eating. MAN

Healthy Lemon Poppyseed Muffins

If your anything like myself, you are a bread lover! It’s something about bread that just makes you feel all warm and gooey inside! This bad boys right here are nice and fluffy, they aren’t heavy in texture abd you won’t get the itis/ sleepy after you have one of these!  It’s a win and a love able situation all around! Below are the Ingredients:  1 3/4 cup of Almond Flour  1/2 cup of Date Sugar 1 tsp of baking powder 3/4 tsp baking soda  2 Tbsp of lemon zest  2 Tbsp of poppy seeds  1 cup of Plain Greek Yogurt  1/3 cup of lemon juice 1 egg  1 Tbsp of Vanilla extract 1/3 cup of coconut oil    Instructions:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees  Line your muffin pan  Mix all dry ingredients first in a separate bowl, then mix all wet ingredients in another bowl, then pour and mix all the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.  Use a 1/4 measuring cup to scoop ingredients into muffin pan. Bake for 20 minutes, check with toothpick or fork to make sure muffin is throughly cooked all the way through

Bean Burgers

It’s so easy to just go out and buy a burger and have your way with it lol,  the love comes from you putting that Vitamin L in your food for you and for your family. Tonight when I got home, that’s exactly what I did!! Here  is my simple Black Bean Pinto Burger that you and your family will enjoy. You can eat it just as you do your other burgers. Pack on your toppings and enjoy yourself! ❤️ 2 Cans of Pinto Beans Drained and rinsed throughly with cold water ❤️1 Red Onion Chopped Finely  ❤️ 1 Red Bell Pepper Chopped Finely ❤️ 1 Can of Corn Drained and Rinsed Throughly with Cold Water ❤️ 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder ❤️ 1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper  ❤️1 Teaspoon of Garlic & Herb Powder Directions: In a Large Bowl add your beans and corn and mash, then add the remainder of your ingredients. Each patty should be 1/2 diameter thick and as large as you like them. Place in frying pan with Olive oil and fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side and then serve! Healthy

Becoming Healthier isn’t about depriving yourself, or restricting yourself! It’s about balance! Life is all about balance! Yes as a Health Coach, I do eat doughnuts 🍩 I do have a slice a pizza πŸ• or indulge in my favorite, which is dark chocolate 🍫 it’s not everyday! I know what my life was like when I ate those things everyday, heck every week!! Let me tell you it wasn’t pretty and I was at a whopping 245lbs😩 I needed better, I wanted better for myself! I didn’t want to live a life full of body ache and pain. I was tired of being sick and tired and I avoided every mirror I could!  There is no balance in eating those unhealthy processed foods or snacks especially if your eating them everyday of your life! The Incredible Avocado Devils Eggs

Have you ever wondered how in the world will I ever like Avocados? Let’s face it not everyone is a fan but I have a great recipe that will help you become a fan in no time.  My specialty with my family is my famous Incredible Avocado Devils Egg! They became even more of a hit once I added the Avocado to the mix, below is one of my favorite recipes.  Ingredients:  12 Eggs  Avocado  Mrs.Dash Pepper Relish  Light Mayo Mustard  Directions: Bring your 12 eggs to a boil, I placed my eggs in a cold bowl of ice water once there done, which helps them to not stick, when peeling. Peel eggs, Slice them in half’s  and in one bowl place all the egg yolks. Slice your Avocado and place the avocado filling In the bowl with the egg yolks, 1/3 cup of light mayo, 1/3 cup of relish 1 tbsp of mustard, sprinkle in pepper and Mrs. Dash.  Then mix all ingredients together and start to fill in your eggs. At the end of it all you will have your Avocado Devils Eggs. Delicious and Incredible!  Healthy is enjoyabl

Do you know how different your life would be if you kept to the promises that you made yourself? Just for a few minutes, think about how different your life would be if you stayed focus and executed your goals. I remember not too long ago where I would set the goal and just leave it, yup that was me setting goals and talking about how I will do this and do that and in reality I would do nothing at all.  I started to see my life for what it was, I was a quitter and I lied to myself more often than I wanted to believe. When I started to want more for myself and face the cold hard truth about myself and my actions, that’s when my life started to change for the better. I stopped making excuses and I started holding myself accountable for my actions. You can’t go through life blaming and finding fault in everyone except yourself.  It’s time for you to take action, to set your goals and execute each goal with time. It’s definitely a hard pill to swallow when you see you for who you are, but

Quitting is Not An Option

Think about how many times you started and stoppedπŸ€” Think about how far you could be right now in your life if you never quit! Quitting makes you feel comfortable. When you quit something in your life it’s because more than likely you were coming out of your comfort zone, it was challenging you to become better but in your mind quitting was much easier to accomplish because there is no work involved when you quit!!  This use to be my mindset! I realized one day that I was a repeat quitter. If it made me uncomfortable, and it challenged me and took me out of my comfort zone. It was not the job for me. My husband said to me that I fight for my children and I don’t quit that. I will fight for my marriage and I don’t quit that! However when it comes to You fighting for Yourself, You quit, no hesitation, no thinking about anything, You just quit on yourself, Then he asked the unimaginable question!! WHY??? Every Season Serves A Purpose!

You may not see the results you want to see! Heck You may not see results in the next 3 months! Remember that Weightloss takes time. You didn’t gain the weight in one setting of unhealthy foods.  It took time. If you lost the weight and then gained it back, don’t beat yourself up. Everything you do serves a purpose. Maybe at the time you lost the weight, your mindset was on fire πŸ”₯ willing and ready at the drop of a hat 🎩 but then something in your life happened and it caught you off guard. Your focus was no longer tunnel vision and it just happened slowly but surely the weight came back.  It’s all reversible. The mind can be trained to accomplish anything. It’s those small intricate steps, those planned steps, that sheer driving force within you to get back on your grind.  Every season serves a purpose for you and every time you walk stronger in your season, you are sure to win. Eating from the Earth 🌍 For Optimal Health

At times you may be thinking πŸ€” that you do eat for your health. Then there are times when you eat whatever it is you want when you want it🀦‍♀️which makes you feel awful, bloated and just down right uncomfortable at times.  What I have learned and understood is when you eat from the earth 🌍 it’s beautiful 😍 bountiful fruits πŸ‰ πŸ‡πŸ and veggies πŸ₯¦πŸ₯‘πŸ₯¬πŸ₯• your overall health tends to improve. It’s not just about moving your body for 30 minutes a day, it’s also about eating nutritious 90% of the time. Giving Yourself 10% of fun, processed foodsπŸ₯³ Getting down and dirty in the kitchen. Creating and playing around with different recipes in your kitchen. It all boils down to when, how and what  When is the best time to eat for optimal health. Everyday- Breakfast- Lunch - Dinner and let’s not forget snacks!!  How will you prepare your meals? Right in the comfort of your kitchen. Do you like cooking?
