Collard Teriyaki Shrimp Wraps

Ordering out is not necessary when you can pull together this delicious wholesome meal. It’s all in the mindset in order to eat to live you must make veggies a daily part of your life!  Here is one of my favorite recipes that my family loves.  Ingredients:  1 Whole Collard Green 1/2 lb Shrimp 🍤  2 cups Broccoli 🥦  1 cup Mushroom 🍄  2 Red peppers  🌶  1 Garlic clove 🧄  Instructions:  In one pan add 1 tbsp of cold press olive oil. Let heat up for about 1 minute. Add you chopped veggies and seasoning of your choice to the pan. I used Garlic & Herb seasoning, garlic powder, 2 tbsp of onion pieces. Cracked pepper and sea salt. Let simmer and stir constantly for 10 minutes.  In another pan 1/2 cup of water, 1tsp of liquid smoke, 1 tbsp of brown sugar bourbon sauce seasoning, 3 tbsp of teriyaki sauce. Add these seasonings in the pan with the shrimp and let cook for 20 minutes.  In the pan with the veggies add your shrimp together and stir. Let simmer for 5 minutes.  You can add brown

 Self Care is a big deal. I know you hear more and more people talk about this one topic more than any other topic around. Since we have all encountered the Crazy and time stamped Pandemic, it has been one heck of a ride for all to endure, not to mention ones who were already on the verge of a mental breakdown because of other things that was happening in their lives. Self care became a big topic for me when I started to have my own mental breakdown due to the fear of the pandemic.  I have never in my life experienced such a detrimental moment in time than I have in 2020. It literally took a toll on me mentally. I was doing my best to put on a brave face for all in my home, my children, my husband and even myself. I was so afraid of the unknown because I had never been in that type of situation before. I mean of course we wake up, take on day to day life and life seems normal or so we think, but when Covid-19 hit, it took on a whole new beast and it took no prisoners, it wasn't pic

Stop Giving Up!

Easier said than done! Yup this I definitely do know. I want more! I am enough! Why not me? These are just a few things that I say to myself when I just don’t understand why?? Why isn’t it happening for me? Why do I feel stuck? Why am I not seeing results? When will it be my time?   Guess what?? Your time is now! It’s your time to never stop giving up on you. It’s your time to fight for you until you have no more fight to give. It’s your time to just let go & Let God! It’s your time to shine, not tomorrow but today, heck every freaking day you are given the opportunity to see another day, you better shine’  Tomorrow isn’t promised, and neither is the next hour, so stop focusing on things that have nothing to do with your success, things that have nothing to do with your goals. Focus on the now, Focus on You and dig deep for your self preservation that will get you to your success. I know! You have heard this as a child more times than you can count. My mom would say your not getting anything else until you eat your veggies. Needless to say I didn’t like eating my veggies. It wasn’t until I became an adult to understand the full meaning behind eat your veggies, which is now my favorite way to say eat the rainbow 🌈 .  A colorful plate is literally life saving to your full body. Vegetables have an array of nutritional ingredients that are all natural. They help regulate your digestive system, keep your heart healthy, boost your gut health, flush your liver, and keep the arteries clean, along with many other nutritional benefits and being so delicious.  Pull up on the veggies, pull them all to your plate. The cure all for Your UTI!

UTI’s are the absolute worse. They come when unexpected and they will turn your life around. I was never one to suffer from a UTI, until I got into my early 40’s. I would just get that uncomfortable feeling when it does hurt but it’s like the urge to pee but when you do it’s only a mere few, literally.  Well one night I went to bed feeling great, nothing was wrong, woke the next morning had the urge to urinate, went to the bathroom and when I urinated it felt like the worse pain of my life. It didn’t burn but it was very very uncomfortable.  I thought it was in my mind, like noooo that really didn’t just happen. So I went about my morning with my usual routine, exercised, drink my lemon water and of course had to go to the bathroom again. Well long and behold there it was again, the pain was just so uncomfortable, it hurt and it had me on 💯  I immediately went into prayer, spoke with my Heavenly Father and started my regimen to get rid of this unbearable UTI. Man going back down memory lane! It was March 2020, Covid was hitting the earth 🌍 like a bombshell with no ending at site. Anxiety took over my body, sleepless nights and the thoughts of me dying was raging in my head, almost everyday.  I chose food as my comfort, my go to and it never forsaked me. It was always readily available and it gave me pure satisfaction. I remember waking up at night with a full panic attack, heart palpitating, legs feeling heavy like a brick 🧱 and me just praying it would all go away.  That night March 3rd 2020 I knew I had to do something and I knew I either needed professional help or the entire strength of my Heavenly Father to see me through. I prayed and cried many nights. I felt helpless and it seemed like I was the only one going through or so I thought.  It wasn’t until I made the decision to just stop and let God handle this matter. Tuna Stuffed Peppers 🌶

The problem that I see with most is many have no patience when it comes to nourishing their bodies. Everything is fast food and on the go. Healthy takes time and it’s imperative to have patience with your body as your going through this journey.  When I got home today, the last thing I wanted to do was cook, I just wanted to put my feet up and chill, and get something quick & fast, but that wasn’t going to get me to my goals. That kind of thinking wasn’t going to help me with my weight. So I revamped my thinking and made it happen. Took me all about 30 minutes tops to prepare this meal for my family. Now this meal is for a family of 6 but you can break it down to your household size.  Ingredients:  8 Bell Peppers 1 Red onion 9 mushrooms  4 cans of Tuna 2 Cups of Kale 1/2 cup of veggie broth 2 Tbsp of Mayo  Seasonings: Pepper Obay seasoning  Garlic & Herb seasoning  Garlic powder  Instructions:  Pre heat oven to 350 degrees, Slice peppers in half, rinse and place on a baking she

Food was not my friend, is what I use to tell myself. Holidays would come around I would eat so much, which was literally pass full and feel stuffed like a Turkey. It was one of the worst feelings there could be. I would eat because it was there or because I’m just having such a great time and everyone else is eating so why not me?  It wasn’t until I started to look at what I was eating and why? Why did I have to eat to feel over full or to eat where I  had to unbutton my pants, that was just a mess within itself. Holidays for me is about family and creating moments that I can cherish for my lifetime. Foods play a major part in all gathers & especially holidays, celebrations  & birthdays. I realized that how I eat and what I eat affects not only my  body but it also affects my mind! I took control of me and took accountability for my actions and the relationship I had with food! Veggies Saves Lives❤️❤️ I’m a true believer that they help heal, detoxify the body and help with releasing fats in your arteries to help you stay alive.  Think about this, your body goes through all types of changes daily, which means your body needs something to keep it a float, focused and maintained to flow everyday. Veggies help with cleansing the body, and replenish what you lose daily.  I EAT THEM EVERYDAY!!! My favorite veggies are  Red Peppers- they have a load of vitamin A and C because they stay on the vine the longest and let’s not forget how juicy they are! They help your skin glow and shine!  Mushrooms-when I discovered that they could possibly mitigate the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and cancer! That’s all I needed to know. I lot of people can’t get down with mushrooms, but if you know how I know, you may need to make an exception to that rule you have! Eat to live!! Habits are necessary for Goals!

Hello 👋 to the start of a fresh month! It’s time to set the goals & put your butt in gear with the actions. Far to many times you set the goal and nothing happens. Each time you stop or procrastinate you set yourself back another level.  You are worth more than mediocre. You can do it, heck you know you can. Goals are the most easily to set, but the challenge is when you have to take the actions to meet the goals. Think about this, actions are necessary to meet goals. What you do or not do becomes your reality.  Here are a few simple actions to take when meeting Goals!  A. Write it down B. Create a plan  C. Execute the plan D. At first I use to crave a good ole Dominos Pizza, I had to have my fix at least once a week, but at some point eating like that lead me to a life of misery. Just overwhelmed & unsure if I was ever going to lose the weight. It wasn’t until I developed a different way of looking at things, at looking at life. Not being indecisive or undecided.  I knew that food wasn’t the enemy, it was the way I viewed food, my relationship with or without food and what kind of life was I truly living where food was controlling me.
